Torey uses her own colors inside, her feelings and knowledge, her care and concern to teach her students in the most effective, respectful and loving way in order to enhance their beauty.

Torey does not use one method, but incorporates many learning styles into her teaching in order to effectively reach out to each and every student according to the students needs. Besides for seeing her students with their many colors, Torey's teaching fits into this poem as well. Torey does not only look at the colors on the outside of her students but reaches in to understand who they truly are, even when there is no name for the color, and something seems truly indescribably, Torey sees its beauty. Some colors are strengths while others are weaknesses, but you must use all to complete a beautiful masterpiece. Each of Torey's students are unique and have many different colors to them it is these colors that make them so beautiful. Torey sees each student as an individual, and not a simple black and white picture. Torey's teaching philosophy fits so well with the poem "Colors" by Shell Silverstein,īut I'm told they look orange in the night.
